Backlog Art #23- Cave Story+
Character poses & backlighting.
I'm so glad I made it to this one. I had a lot of fun drawing this.
Tonight's lesson: backlighting.
With a bright moon behind the trio, I figured I can practice more shading. At first I didn't think it would work out for my vision, but having the rim lighting there makes them look perfect. I think I did well on the poses too: They definitely look like they're sitting there chatting and relaxing.
Fun fact: I did a sketch of Curly Brace once, in one of my sketchbooks. I wasn't the best at drawing her, since this was in that one style where I try to have things be both realistic (i.e. detailed) and simplistic. I definitely did her justice here.
