Backlog Art #31- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Better fading background characters, split world, and I finally draw Zelda.

Backlog Art #31- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Two timelines, same Link.

Yo, it's been a while.

I've been making some new stream props because I hate myself, but now I have been continuing my art stuff. Here's the first one on the list.

It was difficult to find good references for Hyrule Field, which is the setting for this piece. Both variants, I should say, because this showcases the past and the future.

On the left, a young Link is playing the Fairy Ocarina, with Saria running happily nearby. Behind the mountain range, Ganondorf is wielding the Triforce of Power. My first time drawing him, I think I did very well.

On the right, an adult Link is playing the Ocarina of Time, with Sheik playing his harp alongside him. Also my first time drawing Sheik, and I think I succeeded. In the background, Princess Zelda is encased inside a purple crystal. Yet again my first time drawing Zelda, and I have to say I think I did pretty damn good.

To do the background, I essentially copy-pasted the layers of the normal background (the past), then added some filters to make it look more harrowing for the future. Then, using the Erase blend mode over the Future layer, I made one fade into the other using a gradient. I didn't put too much detail into the sky because I knew I was gonna add Ganondorf and Zelda as headshots that fade into the sky.

I think this is my favorite Link I've drawn.
