Backlog Art #8- Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

In which I make a pretty menacing shadow of Ganon.

Return of Ganon.

...this game

I love the ideas it has, but GOD DAMN I hate this game. I wish it was better, and I wish I was better at it.

But that's not why we're here.

The temple, all that we can see of it, is decent. It gets the job done, you know that it's a temple. The land extending back to the skyline is barren, which fits well with where these temples are usually located.

Yet again, I like how I made Link look. It's the same one from the first game, just older, so he mostly kept the same design, just with some features to make him look older. His pose, in which he is confidently strutting into the temple, I am proud of.

Link's Shadow, on the other hand, I wish I was able to do better. I attempted to make his shadow extend widely outwards away from the temple, and also showcase red glowing eyes, but obviously said eyes don't show up at all. I could've made his shadow in better ways now, but at least his shadow is prominent in this art.

Ganon is my favorite piece here. He turned out quite well, despite being a shadowy figure in the skyline. Didn't need much to make him look menacing, just some white highlights to show off some bare minimum detail on his face (like his snout and angry eyebrows), along with some very bright, glowing red eyes. They definitely pierce the darkness, which I had to finagle with some stuff to make it work, but it was definitely worth it.
