Old Art #3 (Krita Era)
First bits of art I made using Krita, my current art program.

Here should be the last bit of art I will be sharing here before continuing with my current pieces. Let's get right into it.

...yea, there's a lot here. Keep in mind some of these are potentially out of order, so be prepared for some assumptions.

Gremlin the Wizard
This one technically has roots in the physical world, but since I used it a lot more digitally, and since I finished it here, it's going here. I believe it's my first ever piece with Krita, while I was getting used to the basics of the program. As such, it's very rough and shaky with the line-art. Thinking back on it, I am not sure whether I did this with my Wacom or not. It's very much possible that I did this during my time in Paint.net, due to the fact that Krita is the only program I was willing to download that can open Photoshop files (which was how my dad transferred the scanned drawing to digital), plus the fact that this is an older iteration of Bhuster: Gremlin the Wizard. I could've sworn that I created this guy way before I created Bhuster, yet even during my Paint.net era I was already drawing an earlier Bhuster design. Truly, this is a mystery that will not be solved for all eternity...

Bhuster and Bramble Hanging out
I believe this was my first drawing using my Wacom. My character looks a bit stiff, his bangs look different than what he had in the Paint.net era, and I fixed Bramble's belly problem (now instead of the regular blue belly fur, it's a lighter cream color). Everytime I see this picture, I see Bhuster and think he looks a bit asian. I really don't know why, since he's just supposed to be a silly little guy that isn't really any race that exists on the planet, but he just gives off that feeling. I see here that I still sucked at backgrounds, judging from the stars in the night sky outside, the window's horrible quality, and the deformed moon. I also sucked at gradients, due to not knowing the tool at the time, as you can clearly see with the light up top. Character-wise, I can definitely see this being the start of my attempts at drawing realism mixed with cartoony aspects, based off of all the extra lines in places and the fact that I actually tried figuring out proportions (plus the five-fingered hand).

Bhuster and Bramble Fullbody
An attempt at a full-body of Bhuster and Bramble. Bhuster... looks alright, all things considered, except for his left hand being weird and maybe having his head be bigger than it should be. I see that I tried going back to his original hairstyle here too. Bramble looks worse than the previous picture. Her muzzle should be a bit smaller, the weird cheek tufts on her don't work well, the hair doesn't fit (and doesn't even look like hair on the top), and especially those eyes. They haunt me.

Alyssan in the Dark
Here's something from a project I didn't end up doing in Terraria. The featured character here is Alyssan, whom I created specifically for the project, but now she's just an OC that I haven't used for anything yet. I thought I sucked at fire in the Gremlin picture, but MY GOD what is that torch?! Not to mention the shitty "gradient fade" that I attempted. I do like her expression though, and her design still stands.

Alyssan Character
Here's where I tried to incorporate my new character into a DnD campaign (it went nowhere, our DM ghosted us (and they turned out to be shitty in general (somehow we let them do that for way longer than we should've))). I like the head, but the everything else isn't so great. The lute's strings, her flimsy little hands, and the size difference between her arms and legs are jarring at best. I do like the outfit I designed for her, though, and I managed to sneak in that Crimson Cloak from Terraria.

Gena Fullbody
I have an OC named Gena McGerald, brother of Louis McGerald (who's part of a ghost-hunting group). I don't know whether or not this is the same character, or if this is a new Gena, but she's cute. I should've given the sweater an actual collar, instead of having a weird-looking opening at the neck, and if I was actually skilled I would've attempted to draw the ripped parts of the sweater. Speaking of stuff I would've done if I was more skilled, I drew her in the pose of setting up her ponytail because I didn't want to draw her hands. It's an artist's nightmare, hands are. We all have ways to avoid drawing them if we can, and I managed to circumvent that by having my hands nowadays be more simple and less about realistic proportions and position. My avatar just has rounded cubes for hands, for example. Back on topic, I apparently didn't draw the little hat on her, which I think would've tied the whole fit together. I'm actually liking the color selection of these clothes way more than I would've thought, as these are just random cosmetics I put on her in whatever playthrough I had. I might have to draw someone wearing this set of colors someday... I don't know what's going on with the background, maybe I finally noticed the Gradient tool? Who knows?

Nature
At some point I was told by my parents that I needed to draw in realism. At least, that's what my brain remembered, as I probably just assumed that they wanted me drawing more realism. Problem is, I suck at that. However, at some point I did draw this little scene that I'm proud of. The tree could use some more work, but at least the texture is tree-like. Also, I think this is a beautiful sunset. I did attempt to draw a real squirrel on here... failed on the "real" part, so they're not here.

Krowl (Cloak)
Here's a DnD character of mine that I actually got to use. Krowl is what he goes by, and he's on a quest to find a man named Dean Krieger, and bring him to justice. That's as much as I will say in order to not spoil it for anyone in the group who somehow is looking through here. I can complain about a few parts that I would like to fix, but honestly for the most part I am proud of this. The hair and beard especially, the nose too. The eyes could use some work, but it's a fine piece.

Bhuster's Rival (Phase 1)
Messing around with a new art style that didn't involve line-art. From just a glance I did very well with the mood: the Eye of Cthulhu is very menacing here under the watch of the Blood Moon. Also, while I'm not using a gradient here, I can see that I am using some sort of tool to get better transitions. I think it's some sort of soft blend tool, or maybe a softer eraser. As for the characters here, they look amazing! Bramble actually has her current hairstyle from what little we see of it, and Bhuster looks pretty snazzy with the Terraria getup I gave him there. He's wielding the Light's Bane, I believe; it's not as smooth as the Night's Edge.

Bhuster's Rival (Phase 2)
This I do have a little critique of, however. I could do a hell of a lot better on the mouth here if I made this recently. Bhuster still looks cool though, and with the hat and cloak off he's mirroring the Eye a bit: they're both on Phase 2.

My Avatars (Regular)
Here's when I first did an attempt at redesigning my character. I had now noticed why all my characters looked janky and weird, so I leaned more into the cartoony aesthetic. So I practiced that as well when I redesigned my avatars. I focused on shape language and color theory. Originally Bhuster had more colors in his outfit design, but after asking for help from a friend I limited down to a few colors, while changing the tint and shade of it when necessary. I believe this is the first time I drew something resembling a collar on Bramble. It's also the first time where I drew my weapon: It's a hammaxe. Obviously, Bramble soon got an actual animal collar, and I followed the main colors for Bhuster's outfit from here.

Bhuster and Bramble (Interested Wizard, Collared Cat)
Now here's some more familiar territory. Bhuster now almost looks the way he does now, with Bramble following suit. The background looks awful here, but that's not really the main point of the picture anyways. I still haven't fully refined how I draw at this time, but it's closer.

Brustle Devia Idea
Yes, her last name was originally going to be Devia. Anyways, a few interesting notes here: first off, I obviously didn't come up with how she looks now first try. The three variants are actually based on stuff I messed with in Terraria... yea yea I know I'm a big-ass nerd of that game. Anyways, I took advantage of the three equip presets and came up with these. At the time I was still thinking my avatar would have magical affinities, so in order of L-R there's the Fire outfit, the Shadow outfit, and the Wind outfit. Shadow outfit is the regular one my avatar uses, with the addition of Bramble's collar. Fire outfit is just good, and even made its way into BoundBreak for my character there, Bruss. The Wind outfit is really the only one that hasn't been used, which is a shame really. I should fix that soon. Notice also, the blue hair and marking colors, the mono eye color, as well as the lack of cut on her right ear. She didn't get those changes at this point in time.

Bhuster, Bramble, and Brustle
Finally, the trio is taking shape! Focusing on the characters first, we can see that I haven't fully gone towards Rubber-Hose style yet. I also haven't given their designs the touch-up they need. I do love the rim lighting on Brustle though, but it does have her colors get altered just for this pic. As for the background, I really like the ocean background of the latter. It's more moody, and you can see the water strokes better. I do love the colors in the water. The one on the left is a bit lacking, but the ocean water still looks nice.

Brustle Point
I think that around this time I started having the line-art look more pixelated. Her design hasn't been finalized yet, but now that she's not in shadow we can discuss more of how her design changed. She now has the different eye colors, the nick in her ear, the darker blue color for her hair and pattern... and that's about it.

PIR Room WIP
A scene that was going to include some OC's of mine (the ghost-hunting group Louis was in). However I only got the room done, as I guess drawing everyone in it was too much. I love the painting on the wall. I believe this was my first time using the Assistant tool, and if not, my first time attempting perspective digitally. Turned out great! I love the textures on everything.

Bhuster's Buzz
We're now in more familiar territory. This was my previous profile pic, but it's still cool. The cat symbol in the background works, and Bhuster & Bramble look good.

Brustle's Buzz
Here's Brustle's next-step in her design, well before I reach what I have now. But there's still cool stuff to discuss. For example, it was on Bramble in the previous picture, but the whiskers are now a different color! This allows for less muddying of the info the drawings of these cats and cat-people give. I have given Brustle a collar with round rubies on it, a cloak, and a crop-tank with a v-neck. She now has different hair too, not just being a longer variant of Bhuster's hair (which has changed as well). Bruss has also gotten a redesign, with her actual cat-like tail, with three zig-zag stripes going around the tail and a touch of blue up-top. She also incorporated some of Bramble's spiky hair.
Yea, that's pretty much got us caught up now! Now I can actually focus on more of the art that I'm making now, like those two stream pieces that I released before this one...
Hopefully I feel good enough at art that I can do my own pieces without resorting to finishing a game or campaign for motivation. For now, though, cya.
