Party Art #1b- Mario Party (Peach's Birthday Cake)

This board was a lot of fun, if I recall correctly. Managed to win here too.

I did the background using references from certain scenes. You usually don't see it, but when an event happens on the board, the camera is looking more forwards than downwards. This lets you see the pleasing wallpaper that Peach I guess had in the room... hey, speaking of, did she make the cake really big, or does everyone that takes participation on the board get shrunk? The world may never know...

The cake itself is quite pleasing to my eyes. Obviously those aren't strawberries on the cake: they're piranha plants. The frosting was pretty fun to draw, I just used a different brush.

The main stars of this attraction are Brustle and Libra. Brustle I had down, although her pose could be better, and I think I should've fixed the eyes. Libra, on the other hand, I had a bit of trouble with.

The main problem I had for Libra was her snout. Her pose I had down, so no worries there. But due to her snout being the way that it is (long, and cone-like), I was afraid of becoming that one picture with the caption "It's just my art style," with the wolf head facing directly towards the camera while the snout is facing directly right.

How did I solve this? It's quite simple: Libra is not facing forwards, so I could still draw the full shape of her snout, just a little bit angled, and it would still look fine. This does mean, however, that I eventually have to figure out how to draw her when she faces forwards. But, that's a later problem. For now, this is a decent piece.
