Party Art #2b- Left 4 Dead (Crash Course)

Sometimes you don't need to draw things that will go unseen.

Party Art #2b- Left 4 Dead (Crash Course)
Don't you just hate it when that last pin moves out of the way while you're bowling?

This one seemed daunting at first, but I had some fun drawing it in the end. I especially like Brustle's run. The car too.

As an artist, it can feel very tempting to draw each character in full when making a piece like this. For the most part it can help out, just in case you need to adjust some stuff that can reveal undrawn parts. However, for efficiency and for the sake of one's sanity, sometimes you don't need to draw their entirety for the art to work.

The car here blocks off Winchester's upper torso, Libra's lower half, and Tinker's body (granted I also have him hanging onto the underside of the car, so it's already not drawn to begin with). Since the car has windows, I had to add in some other stuff, like Winchester's right arm and Libra's right leg. However, it isn't too noticeable anyways since not only are the windows opaque enough to make some of that detail hard to see, but the motion blur helps a lot too in that regard.

The background is mostly minimalistic, being basically 3 rectangles, but since the focus is on the car bowling, Brustle dodging, and the tank's shadow (plus I didn't want to figure out what the actual site that this happened in looked like), I think it works well enough.
