The OC's from the Past (Group 2: Plushies)

I talk about my OC's. This second set is about the plushies and dolls that I played with around the house.

Welcome back to this series of posts, where I catalogue all of my previous characters (that I remember). If you don't recall the formula in which I do this in, or didn't check out the previous post, here's a run-down:

  • Characters will be put in drop-down menus.
  • It will mention, in this probable order: their name (on the box), a description, their personality and skills, and their roles.
  • For characters that have evolved over the years, I will mention either the latest one or my favorite one.
  • I will make mention of any important iterations using the angle bracket ">".
  • If a character was migrated into a new group, I will mention the group, and mark any changes they have had.

Now, let us begin:

Plushies

This set goes hand-in-hand with the imaginary friends. I had a lot of toys and plushies that I played with.

Their setting was my first home. They were aware that they were plusheis, but that didn't stop them from doing shit. Some of them would even interact with the imaginary friends, and can enter the imaginary world.

I had quite a few Webkinz-branded plushies, but I barely remember much about the majority of them (you'll see the exceptions in the first section). I'm choosing to list them at the bottom.

Unbranded / Branded Plushies

Butter "Budd" the Derp

I don't know if I've explained what a Derp is, from my vernacular. Obviously, it has a definition. I don't use it for that, it is the name of a creature I designed. As in, I chopped the head off of the Generic Character Template and voila.

Derps are spherical creatures that are essentially bouncy balls given life. They have big beady eyes and a bean nose, with no mouth. It's like you inverted both the size of a bowling ball's holes, and then turned then right-side out. Derps are usually white (as in the color, not the skin tone).

This one is different. Butter was a golden derp, he even shined like gold too. Not that you'd know, with the actual "plush" I made to be him. He was always curious, but also cautious. He ended up in the most wackiest of situations, with even more hilarious solutions. He's just a ball, but that doesn't stop him.

The name was inspired by... Skydoesminecraft. Way back before we knew he was an abuser. Or was he a predator? He was a MineCraft YouTuber, so it's probably best to say both. He called gold "butter" because of the sprite of the gold ingots. It stuck, so this guy's initial name was Butter. When I got a bit more serious, I named him Budd, short for Buddy.

Little Barker

I can't remember getting this guy, but he was one of the first plushies I've gotten, and to this day I still have him. I still have quite a few, but this one means a lot more to me.

Little Barker is a St. Bernard Webkinz. Webkinz was one of those websites that had plushies with codes to add them to your own little house where they live and do shit. Little Barker was specifically part of a group called Lil'Kinz, which were small. His size and him being a dog led up to his name. LB has the Webkinz logo on his left front paw.

He became a staple in my imagination, acting as my right hand whenever Blue Cat wasn't there. He got the same personality as Blue Dog, where he's very snarky and down-to-earth. That doesn't mean he was an asshole though, and he goofs off in his own ways. He was always down to join me on my "adventures."

I always imagined LB being able to hover. He had other magic too, which usually came out of his stamped left paw.

Salty

Less important than LB, but still has some, Salty was a small stuffed dog-looking toy. Brown fur, no patterns, beady eyes, more stiff than plushies usually were.

I don't recall much of what he was like as a kid, but at some point I thought he would be jealous of LB's position. I think it was because I realized I had Salty for longer or something.

No powers, but he is a talking quadrupedal dog.

Chewtoy

This was another Webkinz, this time named after a real dog of mine. Much like that dog, this character was a chihuahua. Different chihuahua though, he's mostly tan with a cream underbelly and muzzle.

I imagined him and LB being like siblings of sorts. Chewtoy was a more relaxed person, being chill with many things. A more sympathetic party than LB would usually be.

Despite having the same symbol put on the same paw, I don't recall him having any powers. I'd assume that he has the same powers.

Big Barker

Yet another Webkinz, this time a bulldog. She is LB's girlfriend.

That's it.

Well, I guess BB was strong because she was bigger than LB, but that's all.

Lil' LB

Considered the son of Little Barker, but I don't recall if it was LB and BB's actual son, or just an adoption made by LB.

This one was a small puppy plush, almost orangish fur except for the tail and ears, both of which were small. Stubby legs, on a short body. He had a huge-ass bean-shaped head, and had a huge schnoz.

He was naïve and curious. That's all I recall.

Sir-a-Meow-Meow

Pronounced "Sir uh meow meow," this plush was a silly cat. They were purple, their eyes were cartoonishly merged together, with one eye being bigger than the other, a typical cat smile (essentially making the ":3" face), and two brown stripes near the base of the tail. Come to think of it, that might have been the inspiration for Bramble's initial tail design. More on her later. Speaking of, while I called this one "SIR-a-meow-meow," I have some memory of referring to this one as a "her."

All I can remember of them is that they were wacky and silly. They don't really have anything else for them.

I wish I knew why they were named that. It's definitely one of the oddest names out.

Marketable Plushies

Yoshi

Yes, he was a Yoshi plush. His legs each had a pole thing in them, and something keeping the feet flat, so he sat down easily.

Aside from being a regular green yoshi, he also had an arm that got torn off (due to the same reason the frog lost his left eye), but he got a new one. It's just some cloth that was sewn into a point, then sewn onto the area he was missing.

He was a part of a group involving four other plushies. Well, five others: Endy, Spy-Bomb, Koopa, Boo, and Bob. Truly a smorgasbord of names. Yoshi was an excitable one, ready to go on any sort of adventure, no matter how wacky it was.

I also recall having him be into Blue Yoshi.

Being a Yoshi, he had the powers of one. 'nuff said.

Blue Yoshi

This was a more oblong and soft Yoshi plush. Also they were sky blue (or cyan, whichever lighter colored blue yoshi is).

I don't remember much of what they were like before, but at some point I found them again and made them a girl. Still didn't do as much, except with the other Yoshi plush, and even then, there wasn't much.

I think I referred to her as Blue, but because I don't know if there's a character called Blue elsewhere, the Yoshi is to distinguish her from them.

Endy

Endy was an Enderman plush. It's pronounced like Indie, like how some people referred to Indiana Jones as, but with the Enderman's E.

He was the more serious one of the group. Despite that, he was more laid-back and understanding. Sometimes he was a sarcastic-ass. He was still kind, but he would throw down the gauntlet if the situation needed it.

In addition to having the Enderman abilities, he was also the "wielder" of Bob. Sometimes he'd throw Bob at enemies, or use him as a club. Some could call it abuse. I don't have an answer for that.

Bob

Bob, the oddest name out, was a Mario plush.

I know.

He became Bob at some point because I took his cap off, snipped the string keeping the back of his hair on the back of his head, flipped that over his eyes, and pulled his arms out of his overall loops.

So, to turn it into a description: Bob is a guy with a black mustache under his bulbous nose, brown hair that goes over his face, leaving the back of his head exposed, and wears a red shirt with jeans, boots, and gloves.

He was the "dumb" one of the group. By dumb, I mean that he didn't do much, talked in a Lenny voice, spoke gibberish (except for when he found cheese), and doesn't know what's happening.

He does NOTHING except eat cheese when he had some, because that was apparently his favorite food (it's the only word that I remember making him say). Due to this, Endy would often use him as a club to bash things with, or would just throw him at enemies. When they had to go someplace, Endy pulled him along.

Man, just thinking about this character in a more serious light (rather than the "haha funny" light I was viewing it as when I was a kid) makes his whole existence sad, more sad with Endy involved. The way I had his character was that he was almost effectively braindead, and Endy, while being a sort of caretaker, does not treat him well at all. Someone call the cops on Endy, he's being abusive, man.

And to think I had fun just making Endy throw him around. Hell, the group didn't stop him from doing it. They all let it happen.

Koopa

Another generic one. Koopa is a koopa, but with a zipper on his shell. The idea was that you could put small things in the pouch, but I would always pull the pouch inside out and pretend they were wings.

Koopa was the shy one of the group. Shy and nervous. Still, he was by his friend's sides. He hid in his shell often, whether it be for defense or to slide around and hit things.

Aside from his shell, and basic koopa abilities, he also had the ability to turn into a parakoopa (see first paragraph above). Thus, he could fly.

Boo

Boo was a boo, shocking. His tongue would extend farther than regular boo's tongues would.

He was a cheerful individual. I think he was the prankster of the group too. Being a laughing ghost definitely helps with that.

He has all his regular Boo abilities.

Spy-Bomb

Spy-Bomb is a Bob-Omb plush, with the key removed. As a kid, when I drew him his feet were detached from his body, but obviously as a plush his feet were the regular Bob-Omb feet.

He was grounded in his logic, but fights pragmatically. He is a bomb, after all. I don't recall why he was named Spy-Bomb, since I don't know if he did any sort of spying, or went on undercover missions.

He had his usual Bob-Omb powers. I don't know what to tell you, there's a lot of these that are like this.

> Surprisingly enough, he was an OC before I got the plush (and then altered it). I originally made him when I was using Flipnote Studio on the DS. That's why he had the detached feet: that came from his initial design.

Another surprising note: he had siblings in my Flipnotes. He had a brother (unknown if he's older or younger) named Cool-Bomb, who was just like Spy-Bomb in his design except for deadpan eyes and a backwards red cap. He was the typical "cool-but-sometimes-a-jerk brother" in his family. The other member was called Sis-Bomb, the young "child Bob-Omb," which apparently meant she lacked the feet, and she was much smaller of a bomb than the two of them. To make up for this, she floats around.

Kirby

This is just Kirby as a plush.

He wasn't as kind as Kirby is known for, but it's still one of his main traits. This one is friends with Pikachu, and often acts like his translator.

Kirby has kirby abilities.

Pikachu

This is just Pikachu as a plush.

A friendly pikachu, who follows Kirby around.

It's Pikachu. Take a guess at their powers.

Darth

The evil one, due to him being a Darth Vader plush.

He was sort of a typical cartoon villain, personality-wise. He was evil just to be evil.

He didn't really have the powers that Darth Vader had, but he was at least good with tech, or something like that.

Momo

Momo was a small soft toy version of the bat lemur from Avatar: The Last Airbender (whom I believe is canonically named Momo in the show).

For some reason, I had Momo work with Darth as his right-hand lemur bat. Momo was goofy, but still did evil work.

Don't ask why I made Momo an enemy. I don't know.

Misc. Webkinz Characters (in no particular order):

Teddy, the Black Bear.
Horton the Elephant.
George the Monkey.
Nemo the Clownfish.
Vixen the Reindeer.
Hedgewig the Grey Owl.
A Chicken, named Chicken.
A Golden Retriever (might've been named Goldie).
A Penguin (might've been named Waddles).
A Tie Dye Frog, who's left eye was bitten off by an animal.
A Rhino.
A Black Panther.
A Kangaroo.
A Turtle.

(I had that owl plush as a kid in the 2000's, when we didn't know much of J.K. Rowling's shenanigans and shit. I wouldn't have named her that nowadays.)

History

The plushies (aside from dealing with Darth's antics) I had in more of a sitcom-like story. Sure, they still did some adventuring, but they were more often than not hanging out with friends and doing shit.

Little Barker would most likely be the one to hang out with the imaginary friend crew. He would also hang out with just me and Budd, sometimes including his son.

Spy-Bomb, Endy, Yoshi, Koopa, Bob, Blue Yoshi, and Boo would all hang out occasionally. Quite often it would be the following:

  • Spy-Bomb
  • Endy (sometimes accompanied by Bob)
  • Yoshi / Boo
  • Koopa / Boo / Blue Yoshi (only if Yoshi is around)

I would also have the plushies act stuff out, like pretending they're in a game or show.

With these sets done, I can start listing the OC's that I actually put (some) time into. Since I'm splitting these up, I need to find a way to make the format work.

Regardless, I will see you next time.
